I’ve been paid to be a linguist (an academic specialist in linguistics) by trade, but many interests fill my waking life as well as family and friends.
Language and languages, names of all kinds, places, genealogy and family history, local history, transport history, architectural history, science history, plants, birds, poetry, education in the broadest senses, travel, gardening, as well as much of at least equal importance but there’s a limit to what I feel like saying on a public site. Let’s add people and culture – that should cover most things, and at the same time reveal less.
